| Holiday | 2027 date | Observed | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| New Year's Day | Jan 1 · Fri | same day | Falls on a Friday, so the holiday is taken that day. |
| Birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. | Jan 18 · Mon | same day | Third Monday of January, per the federal rule in force since 1998. |
| Washington's Birthday | Feb 15 · Mon | same day | Third Monday of February. The third Monday cannot fall on Feb 22 itself in 2027. |
| Memorial Day | May 31 · Mon | same day | Last Monday of May. The long weekend bridges May 29–31. |
| Juneteenth National Independence Day | Jun 19 · Sat | Jun 18 · Fri | June 19 falls on a Saturday, so it is observed the Friday before. |
| Independence Day | Jul 4 · Sun | Jul 5 · Mon | July 4 falls on a Sunday, so it is observed the Monday after. |
| Labor Day | Sep 6 · Mon | same day | First Monday of September, the end of the summer weekend season. |
| Columbus Day | Oct 11 · Mon | same day | Second Monday of October. Some states and cities observe different names on this date. |
| Veterans Day | Nov 11 · Thu | same day | Marked every year on November 11, regardless of the weekday. |
| Thanksgiving Day | Nov 25 · Thu | same day | Fourth Thursday of November. |
| Christmas Day | Dec 25 · Sat | Dec 24 · Fri | December 25 falls on a Saturday, so federal offices observe it the Friday before. |
| New Year's Day 20282028 holiday | falls in 2028 | Dec 31 · Fri | The Saturday start of 2028 is observed on Friday, December 31, 2027 by most federal employees. It is not an additional 2027 holiday. |
Federal holidays are the schedule for federal employees. Banks, state and local governments, and school districts set their own calendars, and a few diverge (Columbus Day and Christmas Eve are the usual gaps). Confirm the specific institution before you plan around a date.
Yearly spreads put all twelve months on two or four pages. Monthly sets give every month a full page. Quarterly sheets split the year. The writing planner adds ruled note panels.
Choose "Actual size" in the print dialog, never "fit to page". Every PDF is composed inside its own printer-safe margins, so 100% scale lands exactly right.
Letter files assume 8.5 × 11 in, A4 files 210 × 297 mm, A3 and Tabloid are wall formats. Mixing paper sizes only distorts the grid, so match the file to the tray.
Hollow mark = the federal holiday date itself. Filled mark = the weekday it is observed. The restrained palette prints identically in black and white.

Layout is how the year is divided on paper: a yearly spread puts all twelve months on one or two pages, the monthly set gives every month its own page, the quarterly set gives each quarter its own sheet, and the planner adds ruled writing panels. The style is what it looks like: type, rules, shading and color.
In 2027 three federal holidays fall on weekends: Juneteenth (Saturday) and Christmas Day (Saturday) are observed the Friday before, and Independence Day (Sunday) is observed the Monday after. The PDFs mark both facts separately (hollow mark for the actual date, filled mark for the observed weekday), and every monthly sheet prints the full holiday explanation.
December 31, 2027 is the observed New Year's Day for 2028 (which falls on a Saturday), not a second 2027 holiday. Every printed calendar that marks it says so explicitly, so the year never shows a phantom 12th 2027 federal holiday.
Federal holidays are the schedule for federal employees. Banks, state and local governments, and school districts set their own calendars. Several share it (Veterans Day, Thanksgiving), others differ (Columbus Day, Christmas Eve). Use this calendar as the federal reference and confirm the specific institution.
Yes, several designs include optional ISO week numbers, and the compact yearly edition draws them outside each month grid. The ISO boundary is handled honestly for 2027: January 1–3 belong to ISO week 53 of 2026, and ISO week 1 of 2027 begins Monday, January 4.
Four months need six calendar rows in 2027: January, May, and October start far enough on a weekend (in either week start) to spill into a sixth week. Those designs keep the six-row rhythm so the same page size works for all twelve months.
Print at 100% scale ("Actual size"), pick the matching paper size, and do not shrink to printable area. Every PDF is placed inside its own printer-safe margins, so 100% scale is exactly correct. Turn on "Two-sided print" only when you want duplex. All designs render correctly in black and white if your printer is mono.
